Soul Survey Study

Psalm 119:18 - Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law

spilledcoffeetoolThis is the passage that, a few years ago, I was encouraged to pray before I read my Bible each day. God's Word is one of the greatest gifts that we have been given as Christ-followers. As I have traveled around the country seeking to encourage children, teens, and adults, I have been asked repeatedly about reading and studying the Bible. So I decided to write this week's tool on the topic of Bible study, and instead of giving you a plan I would like to offer a framework that was taught to me that has been very helpful as I attempt to get God's Word in my life. Be Still

bestillcoverccOften, the trials and pressures of life threaten to overwhelm us. We can be so easily distracted by the stress of relationships, jobs, and the noise of this world. It is imperative for the Christian to battle the distractions and rest in the knowledge of God.

Be Still is a 2-CD project designed to help you focus on Christ. The first CD is comprised of 15 songs that are cross-centered and meditative in style. The second CD has 8 passages of scripture about Jesus that are set to some of the songs from the first CD. We hope these scripture meditations guide your thoughts toward God, and the loving sacrifice Jesus Christ made on your behalf. Our prayer is that the songs and scripture meditations will help you to "be still."

Determining the Will of God

willsofgodEvery Christian must struggle through the question of what they believe God’s will for their life involves. We all feel this struggle in different ways. Sometimes it is as simple as, "should I buy this computer or a cheaper one?" Other times, it is more complex. Some of us want to know what type of job we will finally land. Others, want to know who they should marry, or if they should have children.

More often than not the stresses, fears, and anxieties come from wondering about future events, or future choices. Most of our anxiousness would dissolve if we would think Biblically about the “will of God.” The following paradigm was presented to me in seminary and has been a great blessing. I hope it will be for you.

LDS Doctrine and Culture

ldstoolOur team's endeavor to help start a church plant in Salt Lake City has burdened us for the LDS (Mormon) culture and how to evangelize and disciple them. We are privileged to have other friends who share this burden and provide tools for us to better understand the LDS. We would like to share a tool with you that explains the doctrine and culture of the LDS, written by Greg Baker from Fellowship Bible Church in Liberty, Utah. Click here to download the tool.

5 Questions About Eternity

5questionsdvdAre you looking for another creative way to share the gospel with a relative or close friend?
Do your co-workers or fellow students know you're a Christian, but because of time or religious restrictions you haven't had the opportunity to explain the gospel clearly to them?

Galkin Evangelistic Ministries would like to share a tool that may help you communicate the gospel to those you care about.
Over the past year, we have produced a gospel video series called 5 Questions About Eternity. It walks through the gospel by answering five questions:
1. Who is God?
2. How does God communicate Himself to us?
3. Why did God make us?
4. Do you have a relationship with God?
5. How does God provide a way for you to have a relationship with Him?

These videos can be viewed on www.fivequestions.tv; embedded into your own website; shared on Facebook and Twitter; or purchased as a DVD (available later this summer).
The first video in a series of six is now online. Over the next five weeks, one new video will be posted each week.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." -Romans 1:16

Why Salt Lake City?

ggcvideov2Growing up in the Inter-mountain West has been used of God to burden my heart for Salt Lake City. I am thankful for the Gospel preaching churches in Salt Lake, yet the data reveals that there is room for more . . . many more. We praise God for the team of men that God has put together in the creation of Plant for the Gospel. Plant for the Gospel seeks, by God's grace, to plant a church planting church in the heart of Salt Lake City. We believe that God is leading our family and Galkin Evangelistic Ministries to partner with Gospel Grace Church. We will be spending the months of August and September in Salt Lake and will seek to invest available resources in this strategic church plant. Please take a moment to watch this video and see why we are so burdened for church planting in SLC.
