The New Trailer - by Caroline |

Last week, we had the opportunity to share with the Galkins in an exciting time--the arrival of their new trailer! I hope this article will answer many questions that people have about the trailer...I couldn't even fully comprehend it until I saw it, but it is amazing! The trailer and semi together are about the same length and height as a regular tractor-trailer. The trailer is a beautiful white with navy and sky blue detailing, which matches the semi perfectly! (an added bonus for those of us on the team who prefer color-coordination. :) When you walk through the front door, it is arranged much like the previous trailer. The kitchen is straight in front of you and goes to the left. The master bedroom and bathroom is up two stairs to the right. With seven slide-outs, this trailer is much more spacious than the previous one (which is a blessing for a family of seven).
The master bedroom has two slide-outs, providing some much-needed floor space in between the foot of the bed and the desk. The bathroom (with washer and dryer closet) is beautiful, with much more counter space around the sink. Going down the steps, the kitchen (complete with dishwasher and full-sized refrigerator!) is on the right. This trailer has an island in the middle that contains the sinks and dishwasher. The table is to the left, and a little past that, the sofa. Across from the sofa, (and next to the kitchen) is the desk/book shelf area. There is a door leading to the boys' bedroom, which sits in the middle of the trailer. With bunkbeds, two desks, and plenty of closet space, the boys have a great room to play in! David was especially excited about his "big boy bed" which is even complete with a little shelf that he has loaded with his most treasured possession--his cars. Passing through the boys room is another door leading to a shower/sink bathroom, and passing through that, the girl's room, which is the back of the trailer. (To get to the main room, the girls walk through the bathroom and boy's room.) This room is beautiful, with two slideouts, three bunk beds, and a large desk/bookshelf area. The whole back wall is closet space, which will be much appreciated as the three girls get older. The floor space is very spacious, and the girls have already enjoyed many fun times in this room.
Hopefully this gives you somewhat of an idea of the trailer and it's layout. As I've said many times to people who ask, words really can't describe it--you just have to see it! So, I tried to take a few pictures to give you a perspective of how it all looks--check out our trailer album for a picture tour! I know that the Galkins agree wholeheartedly--we don't deserve anything from God, but He is SO good to provide His children with good things. They are grateful for this gift from the Lord, and are thankful for the many prayers and the support you have given. This trailer is just a means for the Galkin family to continue doing what God has called them to do--preach Christ!
