Family, Fun, Friends, and Food - by Reba PDF Print E-mail

rebas_article_pic.jpgFamily, fun, friends, and food.  These four things have characterized our last couple weeks in Denver.  Family – Denver is where Josh and Christy grew up.  It’s been fun to be able to spend extra time with Dr. and Mrs. Roland and a few of the brothers, Dan and Ben Roland.  Dan, his wife Audrey, and their son Ezra were able to come out to a couple of services.  We enjoyed a chilly night sitting outside Starbucks while we caught up and laughed at old college stories.  Just this last weekend, Josh’s younger brother Ben flew in from college and our whole team and the Roland family feasted on pizza from a local place called BeauJo’s Pizza.  We took up a large portion of the restaurant seating and were quite a spectacle while we cheered on our teams playing in a March Madness basketball game.

Friends – Terry and Michael Pettit also were in town this last week!  We were thrilled to be able to catch up and spend some quality time together.  Terry and I braved a Denver blizzard one day just to be able to have a lunch date.  We ended up being stranded at the mall for hours while the snow fell in torrents.  What a horrible place to be stuck during a blizzard!   That night we ended up canceling our service due to the foot of snow we received.

Of course with all these friends in town what better way to have fun then over food or coffee?  These two families - the Roland’s and the Pettit’s, have been used by the Lord to impact our lives.  What a joy it was to spend time rejoicing in the works God is doing in all of our lives.
