Everyone enjoyed our week in Huntsville, AL--but I think
the Galkin kids enjoyed one particular night the most. Since the church was
kind enough to let us stay in their missionary apartments, Josh, Reba, and I
decided it would be fun to have a sleep over with the kids! So, with the
anticipation building up through the week, we brought the kids over after the
service on Thursday night for the best sleep over of their lives. Not only did
we stock up on tons of junk food, but we also watched a fun movie (projected
onto the wall, thanks to Josh!) and some competition on the Wii. When the boys
and girls split ways for the night, we went to bed tired, and looking forward
to the breakfast the guys would cook in the morning. We discovered many things
through this experience--first, that Anna Grace is quite good at Wii bowling,
while William takes after his dad in dominating the WiiPlay Tanks game. Second,
Lilly and David are very affected by sugar late at night, and that if left to
his own devices, David can and will eat a whole bag of M&Ms. Third, Josh
can make some great french toast!

After getting to sleep in a little bit, eating a good
breakfast, and letting the kids take some bubble baths, we met up with Will and
Christy and took a field trip to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in
Huntsville. We all learned a lot through the different exhibits, and the
presentation about the Apollo moon landings. Probably the boys enjoyed the trip
the most, as they saw and read about different rockets, guns, missiles, and
space ships. Seeing the Saturn V space ship up close was definitely a treat,
and William was thrilled to see a life-size display of Darth Vader's costume. A
fun night/day was had by all, and we are always grateful for times of
fellowship with the team!
The new semi has been a blessing on our couple of travel
days. We praise the Lord for answering the prayers concerning the new vehicle! With
the extended cab, the kids enjoy sitting at the table to listen to music,
color, or (in William’s case) build the latest Lego creation, and taking naps
in the overhead bed. If you’d like to see some pictures of the new truck, click here.
