aaron_and_steph.jpg Last week we split off from the team to go back to our home in Rocky Mount, North Carolina for Aaron’s sister’s wedding. We have been praying for Lori to find a man for a while, and the Lord brought about the perfect match for her! Since her husband Jeremy is a helicopter pilot for the US Army and had been deployed in Iraq for much of their relationship, we had not been able to spend time with him at all.

We were thankful that God allowed us to be home the entire week of the wedding. The Monday of the wedding week, we went to the North Carolina State Fair in Raleigh. I can’t remember the last time that I had been to a fair that big. I walked through the entrance and told myself that I will eat as much fair food as I can and not feel the least bit guilty….and I did. Cheese steak, onion rings, elephant ears, cotton candy…whew!!! And then to end the fun night, we all decided to take a whirl on one of those crazy Midway rides! WHOA! My stomach told me that I was done eating after that. It was a wonderful time to spend time together as a family before the big day. Of course Aaron had to make sure that Jeremy passed inspection, so he took him out in the woods a few mornings to look for some monster bucks!!

For the wedding, Aaron gave a charge to Jeremy and Lori based on the story of Ruth and Boaz. Lori has been a wonderful testimony of loyalty and faithfulness like Ruth and Jeremy of character and valor like Boaz. It was a privilege to be a part of their special day with them. I sang a few songs for the ceremony, and Ella almost stole the show as the “Feather Fairy”. She actually walked down the aisle (holding onto Aaron’s finger) and placed a peacock feather in a flower arrangement on stage. Adorable!

Lori and Jeremy’s wedding was such a blessing to Aaron and me. We have seen God bless in answering prayer. Their testimony of faithfulness and obedience as they waited on God’s timing has been shared with many single adults.  God truly receives the all the glory for his mighty hand of provision and timing.
