Every year, the tradition on the
Galkin team is to have a fall party.
This party is looked forward to with great anticipation. For months, team members plan ideas for their
costumes and take great precautions to keep that idea a secret.
Last Sunday, great plans were made
as the Galkin family, Coffey family, and Josh, Caroline, and I prepared for the
party. Finally, the costumes were
adorned and grand entrances were made.
Will Galkin became a hippy with a long, haired wig. Christy Galkin became a Liverpool
soccer player. Anna Grace turned into an
Indian; William became a ninja; Lilly became an Indian princess; and David was
a wild-life ranger. Aaron and Stephanie
Coffey showed up as redneck hunters and Ella was a cute little lady bug!
It
was Josh, Caroline, and I though that took the award for most creative or
humiliating costumes. Our original idea
was to be the Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 and 2.
After searching for hours though, the proper accessories could not be
found. In a moment of last minute
desperation, we decided to purchase blue sleepers – one piece pajamas with
footies. Donned in our sleepers and blue
wigs, we made a grand entrance to the party.
The
rest of the evening was filled with food, family, and fun. We had caramel apples, chocolate covered
popcorn, and our new team favorite – Buffalo Wild Wings. We carved pumpkins, and then ended the night
with the annual candy hunt. Youngest to
oldest, it was a fight to see who could get to the candy first. Thankfully, no small children were hurt in
the shuffle. Filled with sugar, candy, and popcorn, the Galkin team was finally able
to sleep that night and dream about those scary people in the sleepers and blue
wigs.
