It seems only in Michigan can seventeen adults and six
children meet in a parking lot and have the biggest reunion of the semester.
But, it happened last Friday—our team drove about an hour to meet our dear
friends on the Pettit team for lunch. The anticipation was high as we drove,
with all of us in one way or another connected to people on that team. For the
Coffeys, Galkins, and Reba, seeing the team means connecting with people they
count as family, having traveled with them for at least three years. For Josh
and me, it meant visiting with people we’ve been friends with throughout
college and camp ministry.
But for all of us, it was encouraging and fun to talk with fellow
Christians, travelers, and friends. I couldn't even begin to recount
all the stories that we shared around the tables at Cracker Barrel -
funny stories from traveling, testimonies of how God is changing us. We
all enjoyed seeing Bro. Steve's brand new mandolin, and all felt a
little compassion when Reba was the unfortunate victim of a bird
attack.
