Elko, Nevada is nationally known for its Cowboy poetry ; in
fact, each year the town holds a National Cowboy Poetry Gathering at the
Western Folklife Center. Unfortunately our team was not able to attend the
gathering, but we did have Pastor Aaron Young perform a few poems for us. Our
team was blessed by Pastor Young’s humor, and sincere joy in the Lord. He
shepherds a church that really does seek to know God more (Watch a video about Pastor Young's heart for Elko). We were able to meet
some prayer warriors that pray for our team every day. That was a blessing to
us as well as a great challenge for us.
God blessed us with visitors this week at Grace Baptist
Church. We had the biggest Cola War we’ve had all semester! We had around 60
teenagers and were able to make good connections with the visiting teens and have
good counseling sessions with the teen members. We also were blessed to see many visitors come out to our
Sacred Irish Concert. Many adults came to know Christ and many more were
encouraged in their walk with Christ.
Next on our itinerary is Grand Junction, CO. We will stay in
Colorado for the next four weeks and then our team will be temporarily divided
as we travel across the world working in missions and other local churches.
